Fratam Junior School

Fratam Junior School is located in Kasubi, near Kampala City, and was founded in 2010 by two teachers.
The school experienced significant setbacks during the COVID-19 pandemic, largely due to the low-income status of many parents, which made school operations challenging.

In response, BCreativity has provided targeted support by constructing a girls’ bathroom and toilets to address menstrual health challenges that had previously hindered girls’ school attendance and completion.

Additionally, the organization supported repairs to broken classroom windows and improved the school kitchen, creating a safer, more supportive, and inclusive learning environment.

Description of improvements

Fratam Junior Primary School is located in a community where many families face significant financial hardship. For many parents, meeting basic needs comes before paying school fees, leaving limited resources for essential school maintenance and development.
In response, BCreativity has partnered with the school to create safer, healthier learning conditions for pupils. Recent improvements include:
– Construction of a new latrine block
– Installation of a new bathroom with secure storage for girls’ feminine hygiene products
Major upgrades to the school kitchen
– Replacement of broken and dangerous glass in doors and windows
– These improvements have strengthened the school’s infrastructure, enhanced pupil wellbeing, and created a safer, more dignified environment for learning.
